Discover 29 Fresh Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Featuring a Commander Precon Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating heroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Is this a radical new set or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.

Check out here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with some useful background. All items listed below launches on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before diving into the many special decks and collections on offer, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a few surprising features. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which players can cheat powerful creatures onto the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells as well. Wizards also took the opportunity to refine the ability a little (It is treated as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are we'll see the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.

“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability since that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark of that world,” a senior designer explained. “But on other planes, because the mechanics are smoother and the new ability will be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with unique artwork created exclusively for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they were careful to make sure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for over a year and we were aware it would be in standard and what other sets would be alongside it in Standard,” the designer commented. “We designed to make sure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” he added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards that can serve as your commander depending on how you pair them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone instead of only one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise due to popularity. Sources told that it contains 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an extra 37 TMNT-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck includes 37 lands.)

What will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is selling a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One storage box

If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with brand-new TMNT artwork. Wizards revealed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding toppings on a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (also known as, the reward for winning)
  • 90 Non-foil basic lands (for building your draft deck)
  • Ten Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The concept here that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
