The England manager Questions Home Crowd Support Despite Comfortable Win Over Wales.

Thomas Tuchel voiced his regret that the England team did not get more support from the home fans during their impressive triumph over Wales on Thursday evening.

The manager was pleased to see his squad showcase their winning momentum, with strikes from Rogers, Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the first 20 minutes deciding the contest. Yet, he was not content with the energy at the iconic venue.

“We had limited sessions to get ready against a organized team and we did very well,” Tuchel commented. “It could have been five goals ahead at the break. We couldn’t score the fourth and fifth ones. The stadium was silent. There was no support back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“How much more can you give in the first quarter? We prevented them get away. When you only hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s regrettable because the squad warranted better encouragement today.”

“I stand by this statement. There’s nothing more than being three goals up in a rivalry match. I hoped for a little more support in periods where it gets difficult.”

“After halftime, to get behind us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It might have aided us to recharge, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Performance

Away from risking a fight with supporters, Tuchel also created controversy by excluding Bellingham and Foden from his team selection. However the choice was backed up by Rogers delivering another standout performance in the No 10 position and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“He plays his game,” the head coach said. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his spot.”

Wales Manager Seeks Lessons from Defeat

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that his team, who face Belgium in a key qualifying match on Monday, learn from their poor first-half display.

“This is why I scheduled this match,” the manager said. “I wanted to assess our standing. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? This performance fills me with drive.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Watkins was withdrawn at half-time after colliding with a post and is a concern when England play Latvia in Riga in a qualifier on Tuesday.
